    Factoid of the DAY! Blind Melon was an Alternative rock band from the early 90’s but due to the death of lead vocalist Shannon Hoon they only lasted for a 6 year stint . The bands name “as the story goes” was given to them by the father of the groups bassist(Brad Smith), who teased the band calling them “Blind Melons”. Brads father was referencing the similarity of the blues-rock style of their performance to that of ”Blind Lemon Jefferson”, a blues artist from the 1920’s.
